DATA WE COLLECT

1. Account Data

To use Looped, you must create an account using your phone number. We collect and store:

Phone number - used for authentication and account security
One-time passwords (OTP) - sent to verify your phone number during sign-up and login
Profile information - name, profile photo, and any optional bio or preferences you provide

2. Hangout Data

When you create or join recurring hangouts, we collect and store:

Hangout details - activity type, schedule, location, description
Membership information - who created the hangout, who's invited, who's attending
Communication - messages, photos, or other content you share within hangouts
RSVP status - whether you're attending or marked "can't go"

This data is necessary to coordinate recurring hangouts and connect you with other members.

3. Phone Number Visibility

By default, your phone number may be visible to other members of your hangouts to facilitate direct coordination (e.g., texting about plans). You can disable this feature in your app settings at any time.

We will never share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage data to improve the app, including:

App interactions - features used, screens viewed, time in app
Device information - device type, operating system, app version
Crash reports - technical data to diagnose and fix bugs

This data is anonymized and cannot be linked back to your identity.

5. AI Features

Looped includes AI-powered features for coordination assistance (automated reminders, scheduling suggestions, etc.). When you use these features:

Your input may be sent to third-party AI providers for processing
AI providers may temporarily store data to generate responses
We do not permanently store AI-processed content beyond what's needed for app functionality

AI interactions are subject to the privacy policies of our third-party AI providers.

LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

We process your data based on:

Contract - to deliver app features, coordinate hangouts, and provide support
Legitimate interest - to improve app performance, fix bugs, and enhance user experience
Consent - when you choose to share optional information or enable optional features

Coordinate recurring hangouts and connect you with members

DATA SHARING

With Other Users

Hangout members can see your name, profile photo, and phone number (if enabled in settings)
Messages and content you share in hangouts are visible to other members
Your RSVP status is visible to hangout organizers and members

With Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party services to operate Looped:

Apple - app distribution and in-app purchases
Cloud hosting providers - to store app data securely
AI providers - to process coordination assistance features
Analytics tools - to understand app usage and improve performance

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for specified purposes.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Looped, our users, or others.

PAYMENTS AND FINANCIAL DATA

If Looped processes payments for paid hangouts or premium features, all transactions are handled through Apple In-App Purchases.

We do not have access to your financial information, credit card details, or payment method.

All purchases are subject to Apple's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. For refunds or payment issues, contact Apple Support directly.

DATA STORAGE AND RETENTION

Where We Store Data

Your data is stored securely on cloud servers in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

How Long We Keep Data

Account data - retained while your account is active
Hangout data - retained as long as the hangout exists or until you leave
Messages - retained for the duration of the hangout
Usage data - anonymized and retained for up to 2 years for analysis
Support messages - retained for as long as needed to resolve your issue

Deleting Your Data

You can delete your account at any time through app settings. When you delete your account:

Your personal information is permanently removed from our servers
Content you shared in hangouts may remain visible to other members
Some data may be retained for legal or security purposes (e.g., fraud prevention)

CHILDREN

Looped is not directed to users under the age of sixteen (16), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

If your local laws require a higher minimum age to use the app without parental consent, you must meet that age requirement.

If we learn we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it immediately.

YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

Access your data - request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correct your data - update inaccurate or incomplete information
Delete your data - request deletion of your account and personal information
Control phone visibility - disable phone number sharing in settings
